Copper is by far the best material available for pressure plumbing. Unfortunately, the price hike of copper is contributing to the ever increasing use of plastics in plumbing installations.
These last few years have seen many new materials (most made of different types of plastics) but most have disappeared due to a lack of reliability, durability and popularity. PEX, Qpex and Wirsbo are the three principal types of pipes after copper.
The downside to plastic is connecting the fittings. Load loss is inevitable since the fittings are inserted in the pipe. And since load loss means pressure loss, pipe installation is very important to maximize performance.
The H2O Group has resolved this issue by installing all our systems with a collector or with a larger diameter or both.
